Do I need a particular motherboard to run HDMI on a PC?

I plan to buy a new LCD monitor soon, so I will be able to run my PS3 on it, as well as watch 1080p video from my PC. I know I am going to need an upgrade from my NVIDIA 8600GT gfx card, but I am wondering if a certain motherboard is necessary for HDMI compatibility?|||No, just a graphics card with HDMI capability.|||just look for a video card that has hdmi outputs. like this radeon. http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PC…|||yeah, you will need a new graphics card but thats it. Make sure you get a card your computer is capable of running. IE check to make sure your PSU has the necessary connections and wattage.
